I made the stem using a pattern from a quilting magazine from the 1970s. I made it in red and white for Tamie at her request as an NC State Student. It was cut by hand before I learned about the rotary cutter and cutting board. I wish the pictures showed the actual colors because the fabric truly reflects the colors of real fall leaves.
On the friendship star: the batiks should be cut separately since the variation of colors change throughout the fabric. Considering changing two of the triangles.
