There are so many wonderful color combinations with Trip Around the World. Since I am using up my fabric stash, I just used what I have on hand for this one. Quilting with scraps can be difficult but I am determined to use up the old fabric.
For our Trip Around the World, we are making a 12 inch block. The blocks are small so you have to keep in mind the fabric patterns for the final result. I just used large and small prints that I have on hand in my scraps pile. If you place an open template square over the fabric, you can get a good sense of what size pattern is best for this one. I carry a little cardboard open square with me when looking for quilting fabric.
Good afternoon,
ReplyDeleteSorry I have been absent from your blog.
So regarding your trip around the world block ; is it a 14 inch or 12 inch block?
I will be making at least 1 block this week to mirror yours.
Looking forward to the "Pine Tree". I made the leaves already. Have to have instructions for the trunk.

My trip around the world is a 12 inch block. Love your Pine Tree block.

Thank you for that suggestion regarding the template square.
