Some quilting short cuts are just not worth it! When I finally committed to making this quilt, I decided to be brave and follow the traditional steps. It is being machine stitched and I am making sense of the construction process and choosing finishing designs as I go. The Y seam does take longer but is not difficult. Point to point stitching is key. It is a wise to back tack but not too heavily. You must stitch exactly 1/4 inch away from the edge of the fabric.
Don't fear the Y seam!
