Mid's Projects!

The Blue and White Quilt is from McCalls Mag 2017 called Diamond Facets.  I recall that she ran out of white and we spent some time trying to track down one yard to finish it.  Lesson leaned...have a plan and buy a little extra fabric.  That was fun! I should talk... I had not actual plan for the Mix and Match!

The Blue and White can be seen in traditional quilting patterns and it is so pretty.  This one is Blue and White but Modern too!

  1. This one looks easy but it got complicated. Its a must to pay attention to the orientation of the triangles. Gonna use navy blue for the backing . Love the different batiks in each square. I actually changed the center triangles twice before ending up with the dark teal being closer to what the picture showed in the magazine. For this one the white triangles are a different mum fabric than the squares due to the fact that I bought the fabric on impulse and could not find it when I was ready to make the quilt. My sister and I looked far and wide. So it settled for the mums fabric that was available. Therefore we all know to buy what we need form the beginning. Planning, Planning, Planning!!!!

    1. One thing that I like about being amongst quilters is that in general, we do not judge! We learn something new all the time!

  3. That is such a beautiful classic quilting design. Easier by hand than machine. Can't wait to see it.
