Sampler Quilt II
(unnamed) is underway. Mid and I decided on Turquoise and Aqua as the main guiding
colors for our quilts keeping with traditional quilt block patterns.
We are starting to get
back into the groove of cutting and piecing. The hardest part for me is fabric
selection and we continue to learn about colors, texture, and values when
choosing fabrics. I am not a designer and we are making this quilt without an
actual quilt pattern so we will see how it turns out.
Currently, we are
considering using 10 colors or less using a main color for borders and sashing.
Mid's main fabric color is aqua which makes me think of sea life. My main color
is turquoise which makes me think of precious stones found in the ground. Both
are earth colors.
Here are our first
blocks. I will update these soon with better formatted pictures.
