Teddy's Tumble Block Throw Lay Out
I am converting to rotary
cutting and machine quilting. My rotary cutting is okay, but not good enough for
this amount of diamond cuts. After purchasing a special ruler for cutting
diamonds and researching methods for making this pattern, I decided to hand cut
the blocks from templates. Well-made templates have never failed me.
Patience!
There are four template pieces. I
played with several base colors of gray and white, this is the layout that I
decided on. It highlights the 'Baby Blocks' pattern and random blocks are
placed throughout the rest of the quilt, pulling in the Mind Craft theme.
This will be point to point
piecing and I will be using my new Janome machine.

First I used some extra cuts to test how the rows will work. I tested the seam and sewed a short row of complete blocks. It looks way better than I had expected. Now I feel confident in moving ahead.
